“A solar farm and battery storage project proposed on farming land just outside the NSW city of Bathurst has won planning approval after the developers agreed to extend the set-backs from its boundaries, and preserve the site for current and future farming activities, including sheep grazing. UK developer Elgin Energy is proposing the $152 million Glanmire solar farm, which will comprise a 60 MW solar facility and an accompanying big battery sized at 60 MW with two hours (120 MWh) of storage.”

Questions

Where does this come from?

Glanmire Solar Farm and BESS is listed by AEMO Generation Information. Capacity is AEMO's AC figure where AEMO lists the farm, else Geoscience Australia's, else the Clean Energy Regulator's installed capacity. No source gives its location.

How are sheep, cattle and crops checked?

Records are found by automated web search and confirmed by code checks plus two independent automated classifiers; no person reviews them. A quote is shown only when its page is online, the quote appears on it word for word, the page names this farm close to the quote, and both classifiers agree on whether it says sheep, cattle or crops, now or planned. Descriptions of the land before the farm was built are not shown. "No public record" means nothing was found, not that there is none. Agrivoltaics, or agrisolar, means producing solar power and farming on the same land; this site lists what public pages say and does not rate any farm.
